British Sub-Aqua Club - Dive Training Centre No. 0730
BSAC training is renowned the world
over as thorough, comprehensive and preparing newly qualified divers
with good quality skills at the very first level.
As divers progress
through the BSAC system (diver
grades), skills and competence build with experience. It develops
confidence, self-reliance and rescue skills, throughout the programme.
Frog Squad
are officially recognised by the British Sub-Aqua Club
as a
Dive Training Centre and our

The BSAC diver training programme is split into four grades:
Ocean
Diver (similar to PADI Open Water
and considered CMAS 1 Star) £300
This course provides divers with the essential knowledge and skills
needed to prepare for open water diving. Diver training at entry level
is all about gaining confidence and learning to use equipment properly
and safely. The Ocean Diver course concentrates on preparing for this
in the safety of a swimming pool and then introducing divers to open
water in a controlled and safe manner. It also gives them the
opportunity to practice skills with more experienced divers.
This level
qualifies you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 20
metres.

Sports Diver
(similar to PADI
Rescue Diver and considered CMAS 2 Star after 20 dives) £260
In Sports Diver training, the emphasis is on building a sound
foundation of open water diving skills and experience through a series
of structured practical sessions.
It builds on the
knowledge and skills attained in the Ocean
Diver course as well as including further diver rescue
skills and decompression stop diving knowledge - incorporated in the
further 4 open water dives.
This level
qualifies you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 35
metres.
Dive
Leader
(similar to PADI Divemaster and considered exceeding CMAS 2 Star) £300
Dive Leader training concentrates on the responsibilities and safety
aspects of leading other divers on an open water dive. Practical
sessions in rescue management and rescue skills will give divers the
confidence and ability to deal with unforeseen emergencies. Leading a
dive will develop enjoyment, confidence and experience as a diver.

Advanced Diver
(considered CMAS 3 Star) - see 'Skill Development Courses' below
The Advanced Diver course further develops knowledge and skills.
Divers gain experience in planning and organising dives at different
sites and under different circumstances. Additional experience will be
gained in using small boats, chartwork, navigation and many other
related skills. BSAC considers divers of this grade to be experienced
and fully trained.
Skill Development Courses
BSAC provides a wide range of
Skill Development Courses for divers at varying levels of proficiency.
These courses aim to expand the range of activities open to divers,
introducing them to new subjects and to guide them to higher levels of
competence in new specialist areas. The Skill Development Courses are
grouped into four main categories, and cover the whole spectrum of
diving, providing something for every diving interest.
Frog Squad
offer a full range of BSAC skill
development courses for all diving grades, ranging from

Important - please note
Before
commencing any training programme, it is essential that you complete a
'Medical Statement' to confirm your fitness and suitability to dive.
Advice on certain medical conditions can be obtained from our
Instructors, who may have to refer you to our specialist diving
physician - although your family doctor can usually confirm your fitness
to dive.
Your
ability to swim is obviously a requirement for snorkelling and scuba
diving - we will confirm that you meet this requirement before you
commence any training in the swimming pool.
A deposit of £50 will secure your place
and provide you with all the necessary course materials. Full equipment
hire is included in the price of each course (excluding professional
levels) but does not include:
- Membership and admission to open water
dive sites
- Transport & accommodation expenses
- We
also
recommend that you purchase your own
mask and snorkel
- available for purchase from
Frog Squad
For safety reasons, a dry suit
orientation (£20) in confined water is required for all courses when using our
exposure suits - unless you already hold a Dry Suit qualification.
Course fees may be paid via instalments
but the final balance is due before the commencement of in-water
training.
All BSAC performance requirements must be met during each training dive, otherwise it will be necessary to repeat this particular part of the course - for which additional payment will be necessary
Refunds cannot be awarded due to inability to meet the performance requirements and necessary skills |
