Adventure Diver - 1 day (Three Dives)

As a qualified Open Water Diver you will have already mastered dive theory and the essential underwater skills. It's now time to explore the underwater world and experience different types of diving to expand your experience.

The PADI Adventures in Diving programme provides divers with a structured means to explore special diving interests and gain dive experience. Participating in an Adventure Dive is often the first step Open Water divers take after their initial course.  However, all divers benefit from the programmes flexibility and the opportunity it provides for discovering exploration.

The programme's design allows you to choose the dives that interest you most and to sample activities under the guidance of our Instructors. Some divers may choose to make only one Adventure Dive, whilst others may want additional recognition by completing a total of three dives to gain the PADI Adventure Diver certification.

  • Altitude Diving
  • AWARE - Fish Identification
(Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility and Education)
  • Boat Diving
  • Deep Dive
  • Diver Propulsion Vehicle
  • Drift Diving
  • Dry Suit Diving
  • Multilevel and Computer Diving
  • Night Diving
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Search and Recovery
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Underwater Navigation Dive
  • Underwater Photography
  • Underwater Videography
  • Wreck Diving
PADI Adventures In Diving Manual

There is no swimming pool training or written examinations in this course - you simply complete the Knowledge Reviews for the types of diving that interest you most. As usual, our Frog Squad Instructors will then check your understanding of the material by going through your completed 'Knowledge Reviews'  to ensure that you have fully understood all the theoretical aspects of the course before commencing the training dives in open water.

All training materials (PADI Manual, Continuing Education Dive Log, Dive slates, etc) and full equipment hire are included in the price of the course (£149) - although we do recommend that you purchase your own mask and snorkel (available from Frog Squad).

To enrol on the programme you must be at least 10 years of age.

Junior Adventure Diver

Children aged between 10 and 14 years will follow the same training programme as adults and on completion will be qualified as Junior Adventure Divers. Once they attain the age of 15 years, they can simply upgrade to standard Adventure Diver - with no additional requirements.

  • 10 or 11 year olds may only dive with a PADI Professional, a parent or guardian to a maximum depth of 12m.
  • 10 or 11 year olds may not participate in the following Adventure Dives (12 years minimum);
    - Deep Dive
    - Diver Propulsion Vehicle
    - Drift Diving
    - Multilevel and Computer Diving
    - Night Diving
    - Search and Recovery
    - Wreck Diving
  • 12 to 14 year olds must be accompanied by another diver 18 years or over and can dive to a maximum depth of 21m.

Continuing Your Adventure

Once you have completed your PADI Adventure Diver certification you then have the option to continue onto the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. All you need is a total of five Adventure Dives which must include Deep and Underwater Navigation.
