Advanced Open Water Diver - 5 dives (Two Days)

As a qualified Open Water Diver you will have already mastered dive theory and the essential underwater skills. It's now time to explore the underwater world and experience different types of diving and to develop your expertise. So why not "make the leap" and be qualified to dive to a depth of 30 metres - in conditions similar to or better than those in which you were trained.

This course is all about logging more dives and gaining further experience in different types of diving.

There is no swimming pool training or written examinations in this course - you simply complete the Knowledge Reviews for the types of diving that interest you most. As usual, our Frog Squad Instructors will then check your understanding of the material by going through your completed 'Knowledge Reviews'  to ensure that you have fully understood all the theoretical aspects of the course before commencing the training dives in open water.

You will undertake a total of five open water dives which must include both:

  • Deep Dive (not exceeding 30 metres)
  • Underwater Navigation Dive

The remaining three dives may be selected from the list below:

  • Altitude Diving
  • AWARE  - Fish Identification
(Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility and Education)
  • Boat Diving
  • Diver Propulsion Vehicle
  • Drift Diving
  • Dry Suit Diving
  • Multilevel and Computer Diving
  • Night Diving
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Search and Recovery
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Underwater Photography
  • Underwater Videography
  • Wreck Diving
PADI Adventures In Diving Manual

All training materials (PADI Manual, Continuing Education Dive Log, Dive slates, etc) and full equipment hire are included in the price of the course (£199) - although we do recommend that you purchase your own mask and snorkel (available from Frog Squad).

To enrol on the course you must be at least 12 years of age.

Junior Advanced Open Water Divers

Children aged between 12 and 14 years will follow the same training programme as adults and on completion will be qualified as Junior Advanced Open Water Divers. Once they attain the age of 15 years, they can simply upgrade to standard Advanced Open Water Diver - with no additional requirements.

  • 12 to 14 year olds must be accompanied by another diver 18 years or over and can dive to a maximum depth of 21m.
